You had to wonder lately if Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen — the duo that led the Bulls to six championships — were close.

Twice over the last year, Pippen said he thought LeBron James was better than Jordan. Pippen also said that he doesn’t speak often with MJ.But then Jordan and his fiancee

Yvette Prieto surprised his old teammate by coming to his 47th birthday bash, thrown by Pippen’s wife, Larsa , at Sunda on Monday.Local NBA stars

Antoine Walker and Nazr Mohammed were there as were William “World Wide Wes” Wesley , Bulls team president Michael Reinsdorf , golfer Ben Crenshaw and, of course, Jordan pal Ahmad Rashad .

The menu included salmon sashimi bundles, lemongrass beef lollipops and indo corn fritters.

The group partied until 1 a.m. A highlight of the night, according to restaurant owner Billy Dec , was when Jordan, who rarely dances, took to the floor.

Jordan and Pippen closed the festivities with a reported dance-off.

So who won?

‘‘I don’t know about that,’’ Pippen said. ‘‘I wasn’t the judge.’’
