Choosing your baby’s name rates right up there with some of life’s biggest decisions. Think about it: You get to decide what another human being will be called for the rest of his or her life.
Much hand-wringing, several sleepless nights and possibly a few arguments go into that all-important choice of whether your son will be named Mortimer or Mike.
So, we were a bit dismayed when Kristin Cavallari, Jay Cutler’s fiance, tweeted on Thursday, just four weeks after having their baby: “Apparently Camden is a popular name!”
Was she trying to call for an audible on naming their son Camden Jack Cutler?
Was she actually happy that they chose such a popular name? (In 2011, almost 2,400 boys in America were named “Camden,” making it the 160th most popular name. )
Or, was she taking a veiled shot at former boyfriend Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa, who had a baby boy on Wednesday and named him, “Camden John.” The social media-ites picked up on the possible Lachey snit, but Cavallari quickly denied any snarky intentions, tweeting: “By the way that wasn’t a bitchy tweet at all...I obviously love the name and I’m glad other people do too”
If KCav and Cut really are worried about “Camden” becoming too common and are looking for another option, we found a little less popular name at No. 166 ... “Peyton.”
