Charges filed against Balfour in Hudson murders William Balfour, arrested Monday afternoon at Stateville Correctional Center where he was being held on parole violations, has been charged Tuesday with the killings of actress/singer Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and young nephew. Balfour, 27, is the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia, who is Julian’s mother.

Business Treasurer's plan a winner for State of Illinois retirees Terry Savage: State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias has proposed a reform to the state-funded pension system that will save more than $80 million a year in fees and costs that come directly out of the pockets of more than a quarter million state employees.
