Prosecutors talking to Rezko, seek to delay sentencing
Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to indefinitely postpone Tony Rezko’s sentencing on corruption charges — admitting for the first time they are undergoing discussions with the political fund-raiser.

Chicago went from having two baseball teams in the playoffs to having none very quickly as the White Sox were eliminated today by the Tampa Bay Rays. Tampa won 6-2 to clinch the ALDS 3-1 and will move on to face the winner of the Red Sox-Angels series. The Sox join the Cubs as first-round losers, although the South Siders exceeded the expectations of many just to get to the postseason.
Mike Mulligan: Bears quarterback Kyle Orton says he doesn't really have a baseball team to call his own, but if you push him on the subject, he'd take the White Sox. Shortly after the Bears' 34-7 blowout victory over Detroit at Ford Field, Orton nonetheless commiserated with Cubs fans heartbroken over the abrupt end to a season of glory.
Chris De Luca: Cigars were being fired up and champagne bottles popped open in the home clubhouse at Dodger Stadium. In the quiet visitors clubhouse down the hallway, Alfonso Soriano stood in front of his locker and delivered a strange message to Cubs fans. ''Keep patient,'' Soriano said with a straight face. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
