Walsh gets government
U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh lies! Does he know that his salary as a congressman is paid by the government? All of the legislators depend upon the government for their checks, Cadillac pensions, lifetime health insurance for themselves and their families, the ability to retire with full benefits after less than l0 years of service, and other perks.
They make special laws for themselves and their colleagues and exempt themselves from cumbersome laws they make for the rest of us. If it wasn’t for the the government, Joe Walsh would be out of work.
Blacks aren’t the only ones dependent upon the government. How many whites, rich or poor, are dependent upon the government? If some of those old white congressmen in the “Party of NO” would step back and consider the needs of the people instead of their selfish interests, our government would work and be solvent.

I was disappointed with Friday’s Sun-Times report on the CeaseFire program. I worked for CeaseFire and know well the good work that they do. Over the years they have prevented hundreds, perhaps thousands, of deaths. Prevented is the key word. I know of no other group in Chicago that takes on this very intense and dangerous work. With their philosophy of stopping shootings “on the front end,” they are effective. The staff works extremely hard and is available 24 hours a day. The article emphasized the wrong part of CeaseFire. All businesses have people who don’t work out. The public needs to know what an outstanding organization CeaseFire is.
Don’t expect NATO, the Pentagon or the United Nations to come to the rescue of the women and children in Syria — not going to happen. But if there were oil or gold in Syria — that’s another story. The whole international community would invade.
