When I read Mr. Steve Huntley’s Jan. 27 column [‘Obama and Gingrich spew a cheap populism”] I thought, “Wow! Steve must be really mad at Newt to say he’s like the president.
Then, realizing that my understanding of the crime Newt Gingrich and Barack Obama are being accused of might be a bit fuzzy, I went to my Cambridge Dictionary and read “Populism. Political ideas and activities intended to represent ordinary people’s needs and wishes.”
Guilty as charged, I guess.
