Iread with great pleasure your New Year’s Day editorial endorsing the admission of Poland into the visa waiver program. The Polish American Congress has been advocating for this change since 2004, first under the leadership of the late Edward J. Moskal and now under its current president, Frank Spula. The Polish American Congress has argued that in light of Poland’s role as ally in the war on terrorism in the Iraq conflict and leadership in the peacekeeping zone with 2,500 soldiers, the visa waiver should be granted. Sen. Mark Kirk and U.S. Representatives Mike Quigley and Dan Lipinski should be applauded for their efforts.
