Cubs in the playoffs

Grant Wylie's playoff predictions

October 3, 2007

Lou Piniella: His best day will be Saturday.

Carlos Zambrano: He'll butt heads with Piniella. Zambrano's judgment will be better.

Ted Lilly: This is his moment.

Rich Hill: He'll have problems unless he keeps emotions in check, stays away from strong drinks and avoids too many desserts.

Alfonso Soriano: He'll steal bases and put in a good performance.

Geovany Soto: Expect incredible throws. Nothing beats blind luck and he'll have it.

Ryan Theriot: He'll do OK, but will be more vital if the Cubs get to the World Series.

Derrek Lee: He'll be better toward the end of the playoffs if he doesn't pull a muscle.

Cliff Floyd: He'll hit well, pull off spectacular plays and be key during the final game.

Aramis Ramirez: He'll be sluggish on the field unless he stops overeating and watches his diet.

Mark DeRosa: He won't be at his best this week.

Jacque Jones: He'll exhibit great endurance and a keen ability to hit the ball exactly where he wants.
