Cubs in the playoffs

Fans will have to be flexible

October 2, 2007

Cubs fans are going to face a couple of obstacles during their National League Division Series against Arizona.

Games 1 and 2 will be starting at 9:07 p.m., which means they'll likely be ending after midnight. TBS is airing the division series in both leagues, so they'll have three games on Wednesday and three on Thursday. Playing in the Mountain Time Zone guaranteed the Cubs series would be late.

If there's a Game 4 Sunday at 12:07 p.m. at Wrigley Field, fans attending the game may have to contend with the tail end of the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon.

''Even the tail end of our runners should be south of Addison by 10:30 or 10:45,'' race director Carey Pinkowski said. ''We'll have the rally stations and water stations packed up by 11 a.m.

''It will be fine.''

Some streets will be closed. For more information on the marathon course route, go to chicagomarathon.com.

''We've considered all of this before,'' Pinkowski said. ''Besides, I'm not worried because the Cubs are going to sweep.''
