North Korea hands over nuclear reactor data
PYONGYANG -- North Korea handed detailed nuclear weapons records to the United States on Thursday. A U.S. diplomat collected the eight boxes of records from the country's shuttered plutonium reactor during a three-day visit to Pyongyang.
Spain says it is owner of sunken ship's treasure
MADRID -- Spain formally laid claim Thursday to a $500 million shipwreck discovered by a U.S. firm last year near Portugal. Spain says the ship is the Nuestra Senora de las Mercedes -- a Spanish warship sunk by the British navy in 1804 with 200 aboard.
White House says farm bill subsidies too generous
WASHINGTON -- Married couples with joint incomes of up to $1.5 million from their farm operation could still qualify for crop subsidies under a five-year, $300 billion farm bill compromise. The White House is threatening a veto.
