CTA again offers penny rides New Year’s Eve

The CTA again will offer penny rides on New Year’s Eve to help keep holiday revelers from driving drunk. The 1-cent fares on the L and CTA buses start at 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, and end at 4 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1. Signs will be posted on buses and at L stops to remind riders not to swipe or insert their farecards during the penny-ride period. If you forget, sorry, no refunds.
