I-55 crash closes southbound lanes near Joliet

A two-vehicle crash closed the southbound lanes of the Stevenson Expressway near southwest suburban Joliet before rush hour early Thursday.
No one was injured when two vehicles crashed about 5:55 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-55 near Black Road, Illinois State Police Sergeant Jeff Lisk said.
One of the vehicles overturned in a ditch and the other vehicle was disabled in the left lane following the crash, Lisk said.
The right lane was reopened by 6:30 a.m., Lisk said. The rest of the southbound lanes were closed while tows removed the vehicles from the scene Thursday morning.
State police are investigating the crash.
