WASHINGTON --- Sarah Palin, on FOX News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes"--her second big national interview--defends John McCain for saying the "fundamentals" of the economy are strong as the meltdown continues. The latest: Lehman Brothers and AIG, the insurance giant failing. Barack Obama has been slamming McCain on the stump and in paid ads for being out of touch on populist pocketbook issues. McCain was put on the defensive, having to explain what he really intended to say, which Palin channels in her FOX interview.
