Incarcerated murder suspect Drew Peterson’s teenage sons — Tommy, 18, and Kris, 17 — visited their father Saturday for the first time since he was arrested in 2009 on charges he killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio — who is also their mother. (He is also suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy.)

◆ Backshot: “Drew hadn’t wanted his kids to see him in jail — but it’s been so long and he decided the kids are mature enough now to come see him,” said a source.

◆ Upshot: Peterson’s sons spoke to him for about 30 minutes via video conference. “They both still stand by his side,” said the source. Tommy is a freshman at Penn State University and Kris is a senior at Bolingbrook High School. Peterson is in Will County jail awaiting trial.

◆ To wit: It must have sent shivers down the spine of Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart Monday when the siblings of newly identified Gacy murder victim William George Bundy shared the following coincidences with him at the Resurrection gravesite where Bundy is buried.

◆ Stranger than fiction: Dart was told the grandparents and aunt of Bundy, who went missing in 1976, were also buried at the same cemetery — and family members had been visiting it for years not knowing their missing son was buried beneath an unmarked gravestone. Bundy’s mother also died June 12, the same date her missing son was buried there 10 years earlier.
