Sneed exclusive. . .

It’s a shocker!

Sneed has learned a 20-year investigator for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has been stripped of his duties pending a FBI child pornography probe.

Sneed is told a cadre of feds showed up at the southwest suburban home of the Cook County investigator on Tuesday morning, armed with a search warrant to seize computer files.

Word is the feds have been working on the case for months, and the state’s attorney’s office cooperated fully with the federal investigation, a source said. The source added the investigator, who is married with children and is not a member of the state’s attorney’s child porn unit, has yet to be arrested or charged.

The Ebert file. . .

Sneed is told Chaz Ebert, the beloved wife of the late film critic icon Roger Ebert, who died last month, is just back from the Cannes Film Festival and trying to hire new editors for rogerebert.com and the digital business they started before his death. Best of luck, Chaz.

The Hillary file. . .

It’s the big Tinseltown guessing game!

◆ Translation: Just who will play former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in the upcoming film, “Rodham”?

◆ The contenders: Jessica Chastain? Scarlett Johansson? Amanda Seyfried? All names have been floated as a possibility in the search for an actress to play Hillary Rodham Clinton, when she “was an attractive 26-year-old with an amazing future,” according to the film’s writer, Young il-Kim.

◆ Backshot: Hillary, who is close buddies with actress Meryl Streep (now too old to play Hill in the infancy of her law career in 1974), was once a young attorney involved in the impeachment inquiry hearings probing President Richard Nixon’s involvement in the Watergate scandal.

So what was Hillary like back then?

◆ “She was brilliant and indefatigable, tireless and right out of law school,” said Chicago attorney Theodore Tetzlaff, a close Sneed friend and legal advisor, who worked with Hillary as one of 43 legal counsels on the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment inquiry committee hearings. “Hillary was a team player and as hard working as anybody on that committee. But she stood out for her extraordinary intelligence.”

What did she look like back then?

◆ “She dressed in the style of the day. . . like a smart, serious woman,” said Tetzlaff. “Loose clothes, large glasses, long hair. Tight-fitting skirts and high heels sure weren’t the fashion then. She was taken very seriously. It was a very serious time. We were trying to find the meaning of what a high crime and misdemeanor meant in the presidential impeachment context of the U.S. Constitution. It was serious stuff.”

◆ The great irony: Hillary’s future husband, President Bill Clinton, would wind up being impeached.

I spy. . .

On the heels of his retirement, former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, brother Casey, family and friends headed to Joe’s Stone Crab Saturday evening to celebrate Brian’s birthday and retirement at his favorite restaurant. . . and rapper/producer Lil Jon was spotted enjoying a night out at Studio Paris Saturday.

Sneedlings. . .

Condolences to the family of retired Judge Aubrey F. Kaplan, who died Tuesday at the age of 86. He was once head of Cook County Divorce Court. . . . PR maven Dominic DiFrisco has a pleasant dilemma: He will receive two prestigious awards Thursday night at two separate events. DiFrisco will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Publicity Club of Chicago, and the Grand Ufficiale Republica Italiana from the Counsel General of Italy. How much ya wanna bet he makes both events. . . Wednesday’s birthdays: LaToya Jackson, 57; Annette Bening, 55, and Melissa Etheridge, 52.\
