The Peterson file . . .

Hunt & Hound: Sneed is told the guards at Will County Jail “flipped” accused wife murderer Drew Peterson’s cell last week searching for possible contraband.

◆ The upshot: They found stuff all right. One too many plastic spoons and an extra cereal bowl.

◆ Backshot: Peterson, who is still the prime suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson — has been in prison for nearly three years awaiting trial for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. The Blago file . . .

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who is now serving his 14-year prison sentence at a federal penitentiary in Colorado, is expecting his first batch of visitors.

◆ The visitor’s list: Sneed is told attorneys Sam Adam and Sam Adam Jr., the father-son duet who represented Blago at his first federal corruption trial, will be Rocky Mountain bound at the end of the month.

◆ Familial fodder: “We are like family and my dad talks to him about twice a week,” Sam Adam Jr. tells Sneed.

◆ Father & son: “Before he [Blago] went to prison, my dad would literally talk to him four or five times a day,” said Adam Jr. “It had nothing to do with the case most of the time. They read the same books, are both history buffs . . . he’s the intellectual son my dad never had. I love that, it means I don’t have to read that stuff,” said Adam Jr., who plans to bring his 4-year-old son, Parker, on the trip.

Cubs chat . . .

Heads Up!

The Cubbies lost their home opener, but political strategist David Axelrod didn’t come home empty-handed.

◆ Shag ’em: Axelrod, a huge baseball fan, was sitting next to Mayor Rahm Emanuel behind the Cubs dugout when a foul ball came their way.

◆ Pocket ’em: The Ax man caught the ball.

◆ Quoth Axelrod: “A foul ball jumped up in our direction. So I ditched the iPhone and grabbed the ball, mostly out of self-defense. I gave it to a kid sitting nearby.”

◆ Seat ’em: The prime dugout digs where Rahm and Ax sat was a repository of top Dems, which also included U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, Illinois Senate President John Cullerton, and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.

P.S. Rahm “I never stop working” Emanuel left before the start of the ninth inning to go to a meeting back at City Hall.

The latest online buzz about Leonardo DiCaprio and Skokie native/supermodel girlfriend Erin Heatherton: He stinks.

◆ Translation: Leo’s infrequent showers to conserve water and resistance to “unnatural deodorant” is apparently causing a problem.

◆ The flipside: It’s a slow news day.

Tee twaddle . . .

Hmmm. Did you know Tiger Woods, who is hoping to continue his turf rebirth at the Masters, has two half-brothers — the issue of his father’s earlier marriage: Earl Woods Jr., his dad’s namesake, and Kevin Woods, who is wheelchair bound with multiple sclerosis?

Well, now you do.

◆ Tiger blood: Tiger’s eldest half-brother, Earl Woods Jr., spoke with ESPN and said Kevin is financially struggling, losing his home and loves Tiger — who is not returning messages.

◆ Tiger teeth: “I’d like to [slap] Tiger, wake him up. I’d like to say, ‘Don’t come knocking on the door when you need a bone-marrow transplant.’ To see this is the response we get?” Earl Jr. told ESPN.

◆ Tiger twaddle: The elder Woods claims they haven’t asked Tiger for a dime.

Be still my tongue.
