Obama's former pastor to preach in Houston
HOUSTON -- Presidential candidate Barack Obama's former pastor will deliver three sermons on March 30th at a Houston church.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright was the longtime pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago until leaving that pulpit last month. Some of his past sermons have received new scrutiny in recent weeks in light of Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Obama has denounced the inflammatory remarks from his pastor.
The Houston Chronicle reports Saturday that Wright has preached at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church annually for 15 years. Wright's guest sermons will come the day after he is honored at the Brite Divinity School's Black Church Summit and Awards Banquet in Fort Worth.
