Clinton aide: She and Obama could be running mates
MADISON, Wis. — The national chairman of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign says she could end up on the same ticket with rival Barack Obama.
Terry McAuliffe told a business group in Madison on Tuesday it ‘‘sure is’’ possible the former first lady and the Illinois senator could become running mates.
He says that team would create excitement in the country heading into the general election. But McAuliffe would not predict who would be on top of the ticket.
The former chairman of the Democratic National Committee says Clinton has to do well in next week’s elections in Ohio and Texas to begin erasing Obama’s lead in delegates. If she does not, he says she will have to decide what to do about her campaign.
