McCain likely to pull in $3M at fund-raiser here
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Republican presidential nominee John McCain heads to Chicago on Monday for his first post-convention fund-raiser, expected to bring in more than $3 million.
Illinois is heavily favored to go for Democrat Barack Obama in November, but it is still a major source of Republican money.
Though McCain is taking public funds for his general election bid, he can still headline events to benefit the RNC fund, which bolsters the presidential ticket.
