Edward Vrdolyak, the former alderman whose skills as a backroom political dealmaker earned him the nickname “Fast Eddie,” has been released from federal prison.
Bureau of Prisons spokesman Marvin Pitt says Vrdolyak was released from a facility in Terre Haute, Ind., Thursday. Vrdolyak served a 10-month sentence in a $1.5 million real estate kickback scheme.
He pleaded guilty in 2008 and was sentenced to five years of probation. But federal prosecutors appealed and another judge re-sentenced him to 10 months in prison and a $250,000 fine. AP
