Convicted power broker Cellini went to hospital again

Convicted Springfield power broker William Celliniwent back to the hospital last week — this time for a blood clot, a family spokesman said on Tuesday.
Cellini, 77, was due to be sentenced earlier this month for his role in a shakedown scheme involving a key figure in the Rod Blagojevich investigation. His sentencing was delayed to July 20, however, because Cellini suffered a heart attack.
Cellini was released late last week from Memorial Medical Center in Springfield where he was admitted for treatment of a blood clot that doctors feared could travel to his heart and lungs, according to the family spokesman.
Because of the blood clot, he cannot start the cardiac rehabilitation program that was ordered after his heart attack, according to the spokesman, who did not say whether Cellini would again ask for a delay in sentencing.
Cellini was convicted last November in a scheme that involved a scheme to shake down of Hollywood producer Tom Rosenberg for a campaign contribution that would have gone to Blagojevich.
