Derrick Rose: ‘Sad that my city got to go through’ teachers strike

Derrick Rose is back in Chicago after spending the summer rehabilitating his injured left knee at his home in Los Angeles, and he weighed in on the Chicago Public Schools teachers’ strike that is dominating the news. “I don’t like that fact that OUR kids are not in school and that’s the only thing we have to SAVE these kids,” Rose tweeted. The Englewood native, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the Bulls first playoff game last season, is expected to return to the team after the All-Star break. “I’m sitting here just thinking how sad it is that my city got to go through this,” he said in another message. “I love my city and everyone in it even my haters!” Rose expressed his love for his hometown before signing off: “Chi town till I die!”
