BACO RATON, Fla. — Citrix Systems co-founder Edward Iacobucci has died in South Florida. He was 59.

The VirtualWorks Group reports that Mr. Iacobucci died at home Friday morning after a 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mr. Iacobucci graduated from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree and got a job working for IBM in 1979. He left IBM in 1989 to co-found Citrix Systems, Inc., where he served chairman and chief technology officer through all of its market and product development phases. He retired in 2000.

In 2002, Mr. Iacobucci co-founded DayJet Corporation, which ceased operations in 2008. But a year later, he co-founded VirtualWorks Group, headquartered in Boca Raton, to help customers organize their information. He served as president and CEO there until last month, when he stepped down for health reasons.
