EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK, Fla. — A 16-foot Burmese python that had just eaten a dead 76-pound adult female deer was captured and killed Thursday, officials in the Florida Everglades said. It was the largest python found in South Florida, said Scott Hardin, exotic species coordinator for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Hardin said it was an important capture in the effort to stop pythons from spreading further north. AP
