MIAMI — An aspiring model claims in a federal lawsuit filed in Miami that she was drugged, raped and turned into an unsuspecting porn star.
Her attorney says BlackPlanet.com, a social networking site for young blacks, failed to warn women about the dangers of sexual predators. The site’s parent company told the Miami Herald Wednesday it “vehemently” denies the allegations.
Two men charged in a federal indictment are also named in the lawsuit seeking $10 million. The indictment claims the men lured nine women for “auditions,” drugged and then sexually assaulted them. The assaults were filmed and sold online as pornography.
Lawyers for the men say the women signed releases to be in adult films. The men face life sentences if convicted in Nov. of sexual battery, human trafficking and conspiracy.
