Police have arrested a Muncie, Ind., teenager they say broke in to a home and shot and wounded a pit bull he found there.
Nineteen-year-old Christopher Dent II was being held Saturday on $25,000 bail at the Delaware County Jail on charges of burglary while armed with a deadly weapon and animal cruelty.
Police said Dent and two other men kicked in the door of a home on June 22 and that Dent then used a handgun to shoot the dog, a young pit bull.
Once police found the dog, it was taken to an animal hospital where its wounds were treated.
One of the other suspects said the dog hadn’t been aggressive.
