NEW YORK (AP) — Police have released the name of a bus driver who they say was killed in a crash with a stolen delivery truck at a busy Manhattan intersection.

Police say 49-year-old William Pena of Hillside, N.J., was killed in the crash at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwich Village. At least four others were injured in the crash.

Police say the stolen truck hit a city bus and then careened into scaffolding surrounding a building.

Pena was pronounced dead at the scene.

Charges against the 22-year-old driver of the truck are pending. He is being treated for injuries at Bellevue Hospital. Two pedestrians and one bus passenger also were injured in the crash and are being treated.

A person on a scooter was hit by the truck before the collision and is also hospitalized.
