More roads reopening after Colo. floods

DENVER (AP) — Colorado transportation officials say they hope to ease traffic congestion in areas devastated by last week’s floods with the reopening of some roads that have been closed since the disaster hit.
Department of Transportation spokeswoman Amy Ford says officials are trying to reopen a stretch of U.S. Highway 34 in Loveland this weekend, and on Friday they reopened Colorado 119 between County Line and Interstate 25 in northern Colorado.
Colorado 72 to Colorado 7 in Estes Park is also open.
Ford says some of the closures have been in heavily populated areas, which has caused traffic delays as people are forced to find detours.
Transportation officials are also working on selecting bids for emergency contracts this weekend to begin work immediately on other damaged roads.
