MORO, Ill. (AP) — A former supervisor of a small southwestern Illinois town has pleaded guilty to embezzling $750,000 from the community of Moro.
Donald R. Flack entered his plea Thursday in an East St. Louis federal court.
The 77-year-old resigned in May from his position in the 3,500-resident township in Madison County.
An audit showed Flack spent about a decade writing checks to himself from township accounts that were disguised as “office expenses.”
He faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine. A judge says Flack will have to pay restitution.
He’s set to be sentenced in January.
