JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is coming to New Jersey this week to campaign for Cory Booker.
Organizers say Emanuel, Booker and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop will headline a Friday afternoon rally in Jersey City.
Booker, the mayor of Newark, is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. He’s facing Republican Steve Lonegan for the seat held by the late Frank Lautenberg. The election is Oct. 16.
Booker and Emanuel have both worked with the same police chief. Garry McCarthy was Newark’s top cop before leaving to head the Chicago police in 2011.
