CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — A 13-year-old girl reported missing in Champaign, Ill., has been found with her alleged abductor in southeast Missouri.
KMOV-TV reports that Cleo Younce was found unharmed Friday afternoon in Cape Girardeau.
Champaign police say a 21-year-old man with the girl was arrested without incident while walking out of a Wal-Mart.
The girl’s mother called police Thursday afternoon when her daughter failed to return home from a walk. The girl called her mother within a few hours saying she had been abducted, prompting Champaign police to issue an Amber Alert.
Authorities say the teen and the suspect were acquainted through mutual family friends.
