STANFORD, Ill. — A woman’s body has been discovered in a small waterway by a farmer doing field work in a small central Illinois community.
The Pantagraph says the body was reported to police Tuesday night. According to the newspaper, authorities remained on the scene just northwest of Stanford until early Wednesday.
Stanford is about 16 miles southwest of the city of Bloomington.
McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says the woman’s body had apparently been there for some time, and no vehicle of other items seemed to be with the body.
There was no immediate information about the woman’s identity or whether foul play was involved in her death.
