JACKSON, Mich. — A Michigan woman charged in the death of a newborn lost custody of two of her other children a decade ago.
Amanda Redman is charged with involuntary manslaughter. According to the Jackson County prosecutor’s office, Redman’s 27-day-old-daughter, Amillia, was found dead in her home on April 2. Authorities say the cause of death was suffocation.
The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Redman lost custody of two children in 2003 for overfeeding a son, who weighed 120 pounds at age 3.
The newspaper says the boy and Redman’s then-newborn daughter were placed into foster care and ultimately adopted.
