Judge: NY man’s Facebook claim should be dismissed

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A federal judge has recommended that a New York man’s multi-billion dollar lawsuit claiming half-ownership of Facebook be dismissed.

Magistrate Judge Leslie Foschio on Tuesday sided with the Internet company and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, saying a contract on which Paul Ceglia based his case was faked.

Ceglia of Wellsville sued in 2010 claiming a contract he signed hiring Zuckerberg to work on a database in 2003 also entitled him to part ownership of Facebook. The judge ruled that while the two did sign a contract, any references to Facebook were added in for the lawsuit.

The report and recommendations now go to a district judge, who will consider any objections before either adopting or modifying the decision.
