Michigan teen charged in attack recorded on video

HARTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 14-year-old girl has been charged in juvenile court with an attack on a fellow Michigan high school student that was recorded on video and posted online.

The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell and WHMI-FM report Tuesday the teenager is charged with aggravated assault in the March 12 altercation at Hartland High School.

The video shows a female grabbing the back of the victim’s hair, throwing her to the ground and punching her before an adult steps in.

Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte says the girls were arguing about a personal issue.

Police didn’t seek charges against the male student who recorded the fight and posted the video.

Bezotte says the girl who was attacked suffered a broken nose.

The school is 40 miles northwest of Detroit.
