Tennessee woman charged with DUI had 7 children in car

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman arrested on a DUI charge in Memphis also faces child endangerment charges for seven children in her car.

Quindell Edgerton, 34, was arrested Thursday on Mud Island after a witness called police, The Commercial Appeal reported.

An officer said Edgerton’s speech was slurred and she smelled of alcohol. She claimed to have had “a couple of beers,” but her blood-alcohol content measured 0.175. The legal limit is 0.08.

Police said five children in the back seat ranged in age from about 5 to 15. The ages of two others in the front seat weren’t noted in the police report.
