POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) — A metro Atlanta couple has been arrested on child cruelty charges after police say they duct taped their children and locked them in their bedrooms.
Police accuse Shawnna Leigh Huntley of allowing her fiancé, Sean Patrick Sterling, to duct tape her 8 and 14-year-old sons to chairs and lock them in their bedrooms between late December and March 7 in Powder Springs. They were arrested March 8 and Sterling is also charged with false imprisonment.
The Marietta Daily Journal reports Sterling was released from the Cobb County Jail on $75,000 bond Saturday and Huntley is being held on $25,000 bond.
Huntley’s attorney Kevin Rodgers says he plans to defend his client vigorously and would not comment further on the case. It’s unclear if Sterling has a lawyer.
