If you're the sort of person who worries something bad will happen because it's Friday the 13th, this has been a tough year. Today marks the third time this year the 13th has fallen on a Friday -- something that happens just once every 11 years or so.
The date has long been considered bad luck by many. Some people rearrange travel plans, delay surgery and the signing of contracts to avoid it.
People who pay attention to such things say that among those who changed plans because of this date were Napoleon and President Franklin Roosevelt. AP
