Oprah brings Fort Hood hero cop, Kimberly Munley, on show
CHICAGO — Sgt. Kimberly Munley says she remembers being shot during the rampage at Fort Hood and never lost consciousness during the shootings.
Munley was one of two civilian police officers who confronted the gunman accused of killing 13 people at the Texas military base and injuring 29 others.

Munley and Sgt. Mark Todd appeared on Wednesday’s episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” She says she was washing her patrol car at the end of her shift when a call reporting the shootings came in.
The 34-year-old officer describes the shootings as “confusing and chaotic” and says being shot felt like “a muscle being torn out of my leg.”
Todd says the Fort Hood shooting was the first time in his career that he used his weapon. Munley says it will be a slow process to get back to her normal life, but she knows she can do it.
