PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) — Authorities are investigating five suspicious packages found at the home of NORAD in Colorado.
Officials at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs said that the packages were found Thursday in the building where the North American Aerospace Defense Command and Northern Command are based.
NORAD’s control room officials were working at their Cheyenne Mountain location at the time because of renovations being done in the building, so the military says its operations haven’t been affected.
No biological or chemical agents were found on the packages but more tests are being conducted.
NORAD is the joint U.S.-Canadian command created during the Cold War to monitor the skies.
