Cops: Suspects had 'guilty' written all over their faces

October 31, 2009

Police had no trouble identifying two men suspected of trying to break in to an apartment in Carroll, Iowa, thanks to the "worst disguise ever."

The two men had colored their faces -- badly -- to disguise themselves. Unfortunately for them, they did it with permanent marker.

So when officers spotted a car matching the description of a vehicle used by two would-be burglars, the marker all over their faces was a dead giveaway.

The men, pulled over Oct. 23, were "being dumb, and combine that with alcohol, and it was the perfect storm," police chief Jeff Cayler said. "I've seen a lot of things that make me laugh and weird things, but this was probably the best combination of the two -- strangely weird and hilariously funny all at the same time." AP
