BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Three people have pleaded not guilty to charges connected to the explosion of five homemade bombs on a Bridgewater man’s front lawn.
Twenty-two-year-old Ryan Whealan, 23-year-old Daniel Linehan and 23-year-old Erin O’Leary were arraigned Wednesday in Brockton District Court after turning themselves in Tuesday. A judge raised their bail from $500 to $10,000 each, which they posted.
Charges against them include criminal harassment, possession or control of an incendiary device and willful discharge of a destructive device. The Brockton Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/RvP5MJ) Linehan’s attorney said he was shocked by the bail increase. Whealan’s attorney and O’Leary declined to comment.
The chemical-filled soda bottles charred the grass and sidewalk. A sixth bottle didn’t explode. No one was hurt.
The homeowner, Bob Lowder, said he suspected a neighbor with whom he’s had a dispute.
