CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A judge has set bail at $5 million for a Camden, N.J., man accused of stabbing two neighborhood children while they slept, killing one of them.
Thirty-one-year-old Osvaldo Riveria sobbed and shook at his appearance Tuesday in state court in Camden.
He’s accused of killing 6-year-old Dominick Andujar and critically injuring his 12-year-old sister early Sunday morning after having smoked PCP-laced marijuana.
He’s charged with murder and attempted murder but prosecutors say more charges will be filed. Assistant Prosecutor Christine Shah says the girl told authorities the man had also raped her. It was not clear in court when that allegedly occurred.
The prosecutor says Riveria asked “How badly did I hurt them?” during his interrogation.
Riveria did not enter a plea and does not yet have an attorney.
