Nebraska man suspected of stealing ovr 2,700 gallons of jet fuel

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — An eastern Nebraska man has been arrested for allegedly stealing over 2,700 gallons of jet fuel that authorities say he planned to use for his farm equipment.

The Lincoln Journal Star says 33-year-old Nickolus Borgman, of Denton, is suspected of stealing the fuel worth over $14,000 from Silverhawk Aviation, where he worked at the front desk.

Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says employees told police they got suspicious about a month ago when Borgman started bringing three large tanks on a flatbed trailer to work and parking them in a hangar.

An audit of the company’s fuel logs turned up red flags. Flood says the theft was captured on surveillance video.

Borgman was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of felony theft.
