Michelle Obama to tour Little Rock Air Force Base

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — The White House says first lady Michelle Obama will visit the Little Rock Air Force Base next week to promote the second anniversary of her “Let’s Move!” initiative geared at reducing childhood obesity.

The first lady is expected to make an announcement about military efforts to serve more nutritious food on its military bases. The Little Rock base is part of a special pilot program that offers a greater variety of healthy foods.

Obama is expected to be briefed on the Air Force’s healthy eating efforts, then tour a dining facility with cooks and airmen.

The event is set for 2:15 p.m. at the air base.

The first lady also plans stops in Iowa, Florida and Texas as part of a three-day tour.
