LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A 46-year-old Utah emergency room technician faces charges after police say he was caught performing a sex act on an unconscious patient.
Hal Lavaun Weston of Laketown has been charged with forcible sodomy this week in connection with the Jan. 21 incident. He’s been fired from his job at Logan Regional Hospital.
Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen says officers responded to a trespassing call earlier that night and arrested a man, who later passed out in custody.
An officer accompanied him to the hospital and waited outside a room while a technician was supposedly examining the suspect.
Jensen says the officer pulled aside a curtain to check whether the patient revived, and reportedly saw the technician performing oral sex on the still-unconscious man.
Calls to Weston’s home went unanswered Friday.
