President Ford’s house for sale

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — The estate that the late President Gerald Ford and first lady Betty Ford called home for nearly three decades is up for sale at just shy of $1.7 million.
The 6,316-square-foot home, located on about 1.4 acres, overlooks the 13th fairway of Thunderbird Country Club.
The one-story, five-bedroom home essentially looks the same way it did when the Fords moved there in 1978: an array of floral patterns in the bedrooms and coordinating lime and avocado fabrics in the dining and great rooms.
“They were very private people,” real estate agent Nelda Linsk said. “They didn’t want anything showy.”
