Wisconsin recall webcam so boring it’s mesmerizing

A website showing bureaucrats shuffling around a nondescript room feeding papers into a scanner is attracting tens of thousands of viewers in politics-obsessed Wisconsin.

The video features a live look at the secret location where petitions to recall Gov. Scott Walker and five other Republicans are being processed. The GOP lawmakers are facing a backlash after taking on public sector unions. Recall organizers turned in nearly 2 million signatures and all need to be verified.

The webcam was set up to provide the transparency for the process and has been an unexpected hit with viewers. Officials said it had attracted more than 29,000 visitors. It also has spawned a Twitter account with humorous comments about the mundane process and the workers scanning in the 300,000 pages of signatures.
