Spike Lee to host Obama fund-raiser

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will be getting some high-profile fund-raising help next week from director Spike Lee and musicians Al Green and India.Arie.
Obama is expected to travel to New York on Thursday for a high-dollar fund-raiser at Lee’s home and a campaign event at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, with performances by Green, India.Arie and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
About 40 people are expected at the Lee fund-raiser, with tickets costing $35,800 per person, while tickets to the Apollo event will start at $100 per person, according to a Democratic official who spoke on condition of anonymity. AP
