A scheme of alleged swindles based on forged real estate transactions was revealed after a warrant was issued for the arrest of Elmer C. Duensing, a real estate dealer at 1139 W. Armitage.
Duensing is charged with operating a confidence game. The arrest warrant said he cheated 40 to 50 people out of $40,000 to $50,000.

Two policemen were shot, one of them when he prevented a drugstore holdup and the other in a battle with two safecrackers.
